1 package mushrooms, stems removed and saved for later (I use baby bella's)
1 8oz package cream cheese, softened
Approximately 3 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (use more or less to taste..I use more, because more bacon is always better)
2-3 tablespoons chopped green onions
1/2 cup Italian breadcrumbs
1 teaspooon no-salt seasoning or Italian seasoning
(I don't use salt because the bacon adds enough and I don't like my food extremely salty)
Pre-heat oven to 375. Wipe the mushrooms with a damp paper towel to clean them, then place them bottom up on a foil lined baking sheet.
Finely chop the mushroom stems and add them, along with the cream cheese, bacon, green onions, breadcrumbs and seasoning to a medium sized bowl. Stir thoroughly. Add pepper to taste. Using a spoon, place a large scoop of the mixture into the mushrooms, rounding the top. Bake @ 375, 15-19 minutes, until the cheese mixture is lightly browned and the mushrooms are juicy. Serve immediately.

MM and Little Man are gone this weekend on a boy scout camping trip. Today we had this text exchange.
MM: It's raining now. we have a bunch of sugar filled kids in tents. I'm in a vehicle.
Me: Sounds like all kinds of good fun.
Me: So wait..are you hiding?
MM: Yes we are
Me: Ha, a bunch of grown men, afraid of a few little boys.
MM: They outnumber us 2 to 1
MM: We're hiding from the stupid rain.
Me: Sure you are...
*he sent me a video of the rain outside the car
Me: Wow, it's really coming down. If it doesn't let up are you going to head home early?
MM: Nope we r manly men who hide in cars.
You gotta love his sense of humor.
They left super early Friday morning (around 2am) and aren't coming home until late Monday afternoon. Don't tell him I said so, but I'm kind of sorry they're such manly men. It's been a little too quiet here without them. Especially since The Girl chose to spend the weekend with my mom. It's just me and the dogs. I'm keeping myself occupied with my giant to-be-read pile. Not a bad way to spend the weekend all-in-all, but still...a little too quiet.

MM: It's steak and a blowjob day
Me: Why is that?
MM: It's the day after Valentine's Day.
Me: Yeah, but you only get the steak and a bj if you do something big for v-day. Since we don't celebrate one, we don't celebrate the other.
MM: We got pizza.
Me: Which I paid for.
Me: So technically you owe me a steak and a blowjob
MM: ...something like that.
I don't think that went quite how he'd planned.

Today, Larissa Ione announced an Anti-Valentines Day contest on her blog. The first paragraph of her post fits me to a T. Check it out (modified slightly):
Yeah, I'm a romance
authorreader. I writeread about love and feelings and happily-ever-afters. But if you've read my books, you know that there'sI love a lot of blood, gore, and darkness too. Because ultimately, I'm not the kind of woman who gets all squishy when my husband sends me roses. I'd rather he send me a pair of zombie-stomping boots or a good vacuum cleaner. Yep, that's me, practical instead of romantic.
I probably shouldn't admit this…but…*lowers voice to a whisper* I don't even like weddings. My secret is out.
I am definitely more practical than romantic. When I ask for a vacuum for Christmas I really want a vacuum for Christmas. Although I love flowers as much as the next girl, I'd rather receive a pressure canner or really good knife (my knives are absolute shit..I hate using them) than a bouquet.
I'm sure I've talked about this before, but I've never really been a fan of V-Day. The whole exchanging of valentines in grade school never made sense to me - I didn't get excited to give them or receive them. As I got older my confusion increased. What's the point in having one day to celebrate love? Shouldn't we celebrate love all year round? Plus, I feel like many times women use this as an excuse to demand things from their man. I say, Honey, demand all year long.
But the clincher for me was finding out my ex was cheating on me on V-day. We were on our way to dinner with his brother and he just casually dropped into conversation that he'd been with other women. A lot. Needless to say, this just confirmed my feelings about V-Day. In my mind, it's just another day.
I asked MM last night, "Do you feel cheated because I don't like Valentines day? Like maybe I should buy you a card or some shit?". He gave me the most disbelieving look ever. "Are you kidding me? That's the only reason I married you, so I wouldn't have to buy stuff on V-day." Heh. I heart him.
What about you? Are you all hearts and flowers on Valentines Day, or is it just another day for you? Do you have big plans for the weekend to celebrate?

I completely fell off the exercise bandwagon back in December. I was going along pretty well prior to about the 2nd week of December. I was working out at least 3 times a week, eating fairly healthy meals and had control of my snacking. Then I got busy and stopped going to the gym. It was just supposed to be a brief hiatus, but you know how that goes. I took a day off and never went back.
Since I stopped going to the gym I've gained back 3lbs. 3lbs isn't very many in the grand scheme of things, but it is a step backward. Plus, I've gained a lot of inches..stuff that was firming up is flabby again. 3lbs is really just the beginning. If I don't get back into a regular exercise program and start eating healthy again, I know I'm going to gain the whole 21lbs I lost last year back.
Today I started Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. I've heard really good things about this program. If day one is any indication, it's going to work. I'm already super sore and I just did the stage 1, 20 minute workout. All I can say is ouch. I'm also going to stop with the late night desserts and the extra snacking. I haven't been too bad about what we eat during regular meals, but the snacking is killing me.
Beyond my weightless goals, I also want to get back into a regular schedule with the blog. I actually do have stories to share..I just never seem to find the time to post them. I'm going to work on that. Although I'm not going to make any promises since we all know I'm lazy. :)
We're going camping this weekend. Since I won't be able to do the 30 Day Shred while we're out, I'm going to do some hiking instead. Hopefully I won't lose momentum because I'm taking a few days off.
Do you have weight loss goals for the new year? Want to do the 30 Day Shred with me?
