Manly Men

MM and Little Man are gone this weekend on a boy scout camping trip. Today we had this text exchange.

MM: Hi
Me: Hi
MM: It's raining now. we have a bunch of sugar filled kids in tents. I'm in a vehicle.
Me: Sounds like all kinds of good fun.
Me: So wait..are you hiding?
MM: Yes we are
Me: Ha, a bunch of grown men, afraid of a few little boys.
MM: They outnumber us 2 to 1
MM: We're hiding from the stupid rain.
Me: Sure you are...
*he sent me a video of the rain outside the car
Me: Wow, it's really coming down. If it doesn't let up are you going to head home early?
MM: Nope we r manly men who hide in cars.
Me: Snerk

You gotta love his sense of humor.

They left super early Friday morning (around 2am) and aren't coming home until late Monday afternoon. Don't tell him I said so, but I'm kind of sorry they're such manly men. It's been a little too quiet here without them. Especially since The Girl chose to spend the weekend with my mom. It's just me and the dogs. I'm keeping myself occupied with my giant to-be-read pile. Not a bad way to spend the weekend all-in-all, but still...a little too quiet.

I think its totally awesome that MM and LM have a good relationship! Last time we went camping my nephew kept saying we should go to the movies.. like 5 times... when it started to down poor and we where all in cars or hiding in tents we all got the same text. "told ya we should've went to the movies" bwahaha I laughed so hard.

Love the texting . . . wish I could get my technologically challenged hubby to even try. He has a great sense of humor but the texting keyboard will never see his fingers. Funny how the quiet house, just what we always say we want, is almost overwhelming sometimes . . . not often, but sometimes. Great post!

@Sunshine - MM has a great relationship with both kids. It's wonderful. LOL @ your nephew.

@Dr J - MM and I text a lot. It's so much easier sometimes than having a full conversation. It's true, the quiet house isn't all it's cracked up to be..but I am enjoying the uninterrupted reading time. Still, I'll be glad when everyone comes home on Monday.
