My kids are visiting their dad this week, but I'm babysitting MM's 5yo niece today and tomorrow. Her daycare is closed and her parents both had to work, so they asked if I could watch her. I said yes before I realized the kids were going to be gone, but since she's a good kid (and pretty quiet most of the time) it didn't matter much to me. I told her last week that we weren't going to do ANYTHING today. I said, "We're just going to watch cartoons and play the Wii, ok?". She was thrilled with this, and even more so when I told her we couldn't tell MM we were going to be lazy. I said, "If he asks let's tell him we're just going to cook and clean and do laundry all day!" There is nothing better, as far as the 5yo is concerned, than pulling one over on her Uncle MM. As soon as she got here this morning the first thing she whispered to me was, "We're just playing the Wii all day, right??" Then, when MM came in the room she said, really loud, "We're going to clean today, right Aunt Holly?" then she giggled. LOL She's so cute.
Of course, I had already told MM our plan for the day, but we won't tell the 5yo that, right?
I am doing some light cleaning/laundry today, though. I can't believe how trashed the house looks already, even though it was spotless a few days ago. Things got kind of out of control Christmas Day with all the people and presents and then we've been gone/lazy since, so things have really piled up. It won't take long to get things back in order, but I'm not really feeling it right now.
For those of you keeping track at home, so far today the 5yo and I have:
- Watched Alvin and the Chipmonks
- Excersised on the Wii Fit for 15 minutes
- Played Wii Sports for 15 minutes
- Watched 7 Episodes of Scooby Doo
I also talked to my cousin on the phone for an hour (while the 5yo was playing the Wii) and did the dishes. Oh, and I've been online almost non-stop, catching up on emails and writing reviews.
I have to say..it's been the perfect Lazy Monday so far.
